Bible Slavery - it's all about CONTEXT!!
This came up in conversation involving Islam (go and get involved!) the other day, and it is continuing now, so I thought this old one was pertinent:
Having seen theist after theist squirm and perform mental gymnastics in order to make sense of the countenancing of slavery within the Bible, it's about time Nonstampcollector produced a knockdown video on this subject. I don't think we should have to put up with theists like Paul Copan trying to harmonise the scriptures by, say, minimising the definition of slave by saying they were all bondservant (glorified domestic maids) because they weren't.
