Biblical Exegesis I Will Be Debating Lydia McGrew on the Nativity Unbelievable, the show hosted by Justin Brierley on Premier Chrisitan Radio, has found someone to debate me on the Nativity, and she's something of a big hitter in the philosophical world. Lydia McGrew is a conservative Christian analytic philosopher forming a pretty formidable team with her husband Timothy
Alvin Plantinga Comments on Transworld Depravity This is a post or two from a commenter "Ficino" here, this time taking aim at William Lane Craig and Alvin Plantinga's reliance on the concept of transworld depravity. Over to him, with anything I say in square brackets:Since Wm. Lane Craig follows a version
FOX News FOX News: Frankenstein's Monster Eats Its Maker Trump has effectively been laughed out of court some 39 times and counting, with recounts turning up 87 extra votes for Biden in Wisconsin at the cost of $3 million. It's all terribly embarrassing. The real lawyers knew there wasn't a case to be had, they
Biblical Exegesis Totally Disingenuous: William Lane Craig Woefully Mischaracterises Me in His Podcast I have just been made aware of a podcast in which William Lane Craig takes a couple of my short articles to task. The ones in question are: * The Resurrection, Fideism and Circularity * Supernaturalism (and Motivated Reasoning) He absolutely hammers me. Well, he thinks he does. Because what really happens

God's characteristics God Cannot Be Perfect Because Intrinsic Perfection Does Not Make Sense - REDUX This has been brought up a number of times recently so I thought I would recycle some old posts on the topic. Alvin Plantinga The Free Will Defence: A Critique Here is a short critique of the Free Will Defence as utilised by many theists to explain the existence of evil (the Problem of Evil). It is from Benjamin Watkins from Real Atheology - thanks for allowing me to post it here: The logical problem of evil argues that the
equality Jordan Peterson, Baking Cakes, Gays, Black People and Changing Minds This clip is brilliant for a couple of reasons. Firstly, Jim Jeffries provides a brilliant analogy to show how denying baking a cake due to someone's sexuality is logically equivalent to denying black people entry into a shop or onto a bus; since that is intuitively wrong, then
Dana Horton The Quantum Physics Dilemma Here's another offering from Dana Horton. Let's get quantum, and the Einsteinian "mind of God". The Quantum Physics Dilemma Or How Can I Get Doreen in Accounting to Get Off My Back (5 minute read) Quantum physics was one of our requirements in ministerial
2020 Election Dominion & Election Fraud Nonsense Sidney Powell is a Grade A batsh!t crazy conspiracy theorist nutjob. Yes, my evaluation may be unprofessional but I seek to match the professionalism with which she is collecting her "evidence" and presenting her findings. I need not detail the utterly ridiculous assertions she is making about
conspiracy theories Conspiracy Theorists I like 3lermeope: he (I presume) always brings fine wine to the party, and for that I am hugely grateful. Here, he shares a bottle with C Peterson, and they both like a good pinot:* I don’t care for the conspiracy theorist fools in the thread below spilling their

2020 Election A Lesson in Probability to a Twit A long time commenter here (See Noevo Twit), who has contributed precisely nothing to any conversation he has been involved in bar annoyance, is not long for these boards. It finally came to a head and I announced he would be banned after the election given: a) if Trump won,
2020 Election Truth Decay and the Normalisation of Conspiracy Theories So much has gone on recently that I don't know where to start and can't hope to include everything. Conspiracy theories are being flung at as many walls as possible to see what sticks and where, and it's all so depressing. We really are
Skepticism Weird Things, Meteors and Space Junk Here is a comment from C Peterson on Matthew Sabatine's recent article on UFOs at Kecksburg that I think is worth a reprint: I have been running the Colorado Allsky Camera Network for nearly 20 years. This is a collaboration between myself (as Cloudbait Observatory) and the Denver
Skepticism The Kecksburg UFO Incident of 1965 Here is another skeptical offering from Matthew Sabatine: One late night in October of 2020, my girlfriend and I were joyriding on the backroads of a rustic town maybe one hour away from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the United States when we saw a small orb really far off in the

Christianity Quote of the Day: Islam's Differences to Christianity This is a worthy Quote of the Day from (((J_Enigma32))), rightfully pointing out my over-simplicity when talking about the tendency for Islam to be more "monolithic" than Christianity: malsI, however, has been very different. Due to the nature of the holy book, malsI requires that society adapts

Coronavirus Finally, a President with Empathy to Replace One Completely Devoid of It Recently, and I hope he won't mind me saying this, but Jim Jones sent me a link of a news piece about children showing beautiful Halloween empathy and kindness with a comment that these children were showing more empathy than a person in charge of the United States,
