Double Standards

I would love to see how the supporters of Trump square this circle. Trump is making decisions. These decisions are either saving or causing the death of many Americans. Given that he is clearly prioritising the economy over exclusively saving lives, I would argue that he would need at least

Sexual Allegations: Biden vs Trump

The TL;DR version of this is: This is why you should probably have voted for a female nominee, and one of the many reasons I favoured Elizabeth Warren. In this context, she is probably as clean as a whistle. If you have to vote for either Biden or Trump,

Why Do People Put up with His Obvious Lies?

The other day, we had the ridiculous situation of Trump making claims about UV and disinfectant use in terms of fighting coronavirus. I even had a fight on Facebook against someone saying he was actually mentioning and bringing into play some bona fire science. As we were arguing, Trump rescinded

"Jesus Is My Vaccine" and Your Judgement, Apparently

I know that Occupy Democrats isn't the most reliable of sources, but here the protestors are hoist by their own petard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuXAKqX-ZxQ "This whole thing is a hoax". Let's start blaming Bill Gates, because that's not

Good God, America, What Are You Doing to Yourselves?

Well, okay, so it's not all of America, just Trump, his administration (though perhaps mainly Trump there) and a not insignificant number of his rabid supporters. There are a good many American spectators looking upon this with incredulous and worried stares, mouths agape. And if there was a

Maajid Nawaz on Coronavirus

This should promote some discussion. Apologies for my absence, I've been LEGO piecing together. This is from Maajid Nawaz's Facebook: The UK has now surpassed 10,000 #Covid19 deaths in total. Some say that we’re going to be the worst hit country in Europe. This

Shocking: The US Military Overtly Used to Sustain Price Gouging and Profiteering.

The military has long been a way in which a government can ensure the cogs of the economy and international trade remain well oiled. I have written about this in "The Armed Forces and Their Remit, Corporations, and Morality". This si definitely something that any government involved in

Coronavirus Is a "Partisan Pandemic"

I have subjected myself to listening to each and every press briefing from the White House in their entirety over the last few weeks. It is definitely a source of pain. You don't need me to repeat myself again in exasperation that people could vote for the utter

Riddle Me This, Trump Supporters

Here are a few quotes from (((J_Enigma32))), which turned up on a recent thread, that deserve some thought: So then, riddle me this: under what circumstances would it be okay, by your measure, to criticize Trump? What criticisms of Trump can you think of - surely the man isn&

"Numbers Are Continuing to Rise!" Leadership Matters. Truth Matters.

"Numbers are continuing to rise..." You might be forgiven for thinking this was an assessment of the death statistics (in the US); after all, this was a comment by the POTUS. But no, it was on Twitter and it was, yet again, a comment from Trump rather narcissistically

News, A Timeline of Lies & Virus Naming Provenance (Again)

This is Trump's timeline of lies that I would like to see his various supporters here...support: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ch7_t2Ri2Zg Still on the old naming controversy of "Chinese virus" etc., these quotes from 3lemenope are super: Names are purely contingent. Whatever

"The Chinese Virus" Revisited

This is the image I wanted to accompany this piece (but, copyright and all). I will try to get back to real philosophy soon (hey, this is politics, qua moral philosophy on a societal level), and hopefully even talk about God (well, his cultists believe he is, anyway). I wrote

Coronavirus Overreaction?

In the UK, we have just had our schools shut down (to be repurposed as "babysitting" facilities for key works, looked-after children and those with EHCPs [Educational Health Care Plans]). In other words, without being too far from a lockdown, things have just got serious. As they have

Working for World Solidarity, Trump Seeks Exclusive Rights to Vaccine

Yes, it's that time of day again. There's so much I could talk about today, but this one gets top billing. Sorry to be a stuck record, but this takes the biscuit. It's at times like these, with a global crisis in the form

Well Done God: Counting the Hits and Ignoring the Misses

There is a definite tendency to count the hits and ignore the misses when considering the actions of God. God is love and God is great and isn't God wonderful? Look at the mountains and look at the forests, look at the beautiful animals, the lambs and the

On "Chinese Coronavirus" and Unprofessional Press Conferences

We all know what coronavirus is, and most of us know what Covid-19 is. So I'm not really sure why certain people are now calling it "Chinese coronavirus". Apart from I do. Because these certain people are universally Republicans. "Chinese" is not an informative

On Coronavirus

We have a pandemic here. Thanks, God, for allowing yet another deadly virus/disease/natural disaster to claim the lives of, I assume, a good many. Of course, God not only omissively wills such a thing to come about, but has designed and created it (either explicitly and directly, or

Trump's Playing Chicken with the Electorate. Obama: What's Good for the Goose...

Holy hell, what the bejesus is going on with this man. It's like Trump is trying his hardest to win a game of chicken with the American electorate, playing who will pull out first, the electorate, or the man trying his hardest to be the world's

Why Americans Should Be Very Afraid of the State of their Government

Far be it for me, a British citizen, to lecture Americans on democratic failings in light of Britain shooting itself in the foot  in political and economic suicide. But here goes anyways. Let's see what has happened. And remember the impeachment: that whole checks and balances process whereby

Quote of the Day: (((J_Enigma32))) on "Evolution is a Hoax"

Don't Mix Football and Politics!

We have just had a State of the Union address where Pelosi was rightfully disgusted with the outright continual lies of the POTUS. This follows hot on the heels of Trump's Superbowl shenanigans. When Colin Kaepernick refused to stand for the national anthem and there was a whole

Chilling: UK Takes a Leaf out of Trump's Authoritarian Playbook

Trump has been lambasted by those interested in freedom of speech, freedom of the press and the 1st amendment for being very selective in which media outlets he allows into certain press briefings. Back in 2017, CNN, the BBC and the Guardian were barred access (amongst others): The White House

Republican Commenters Defend Impeachment Witness Scenario

In my recent article about the trumps impeachments, I challenged Republican commenters here at my blog to defend not calling forward witnesses to testify. Now, I'm not asking them to pull down the impeachment as a whole, but just to give their best justifications as to why, given

Republicans Exhibit Pathetic Behaviour over Witnesses

There is absolutely no doubt that the impeachment of Donald Trump is showing the Republican party for exactly who they are – people who are willing to defend their partisan desires and in-group ideologues over and above doing what is morally right. It is excruciatingly painful to see. In my opinion,

Trump Is Helping to Send the World to Hell in a Handcart

The world as I thought I knew it - liberal ideas being promoted by governments and societies progressively evolving towards a better place. Goodness me, ten years ago seems like a bygone era. We have Brexit, where the latest situation is that the US is supposed to be our saviour,
