Why Would Any Believing Character Bother To Fight Against God?

This is a pretty common idea, but it came up in conversation so I thought I'd mention it again. If you were to accept that God is definitely omnipotent, then fighting against God is ultimately doomed to failure.

This happens in dramatised films, of course. Whether it be films like Legion, where an archangel fights the forces of evil, or any other story, the point is the same. The idea is that God could click his fingers, and Satan, demonic beasts, or any other foe would simply drop down dead.

If Satan, or any such evil entity, really actually understood the perfect being theology that is entailed in the classical conception of God, then any action against the will of that God would be utterly pointless and really quite stupid.

In other words, any actual fight against God, where the understanding is that God exists and was to exist, is an utterly pointless exercise.

To add to this, I would also question why God would take thousands of years to painfully go about winning his battles. But that's another post.

Everyone submit! Give up you evil demons, I tell you!
